Welcome Keith: From Snap-On Tools to LockFit Jewels in Epsom and Beyond

At LockFit, we are thrilled to introduce our newest franchisee, Keith, who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for hands-on problem-solving to our community. With an extensive background in the motor trade and a history of successful business ventures, Keith is poised to make a significant impact in the his local community.

A Lifelong Journey in Trades and Tools

Keith has spent the majority of his career in the motor trade, most recently working with multiple Snap-On Tool franchises. His journey began as a Tech Rep for Snap-On garage equipment, where he met Gary Wraight, the LockFit Romford franchisee. Inspired by Gary’s success and eager to be his own boss again, Keith decided to join the LockFit family.

Why LockFit?

“The very positive feedback from Gary and the chance to be my own boss within a supportive franchise structure attracted me to LockFit,” Keith says. His decision was driven by the desire to leverage his hands-on skills and the appeal of a new challenge.

The Rewards of the LockFit Franchise

One of the most rewarding aspects of joining LockFit has been the incredible support from the company and the engagement with fellow franchisees. “The level of support is serious, and the community of franchisees is always willing to help each other out,” Keith shares.

Bringing Unique Skills to the Table

With a background as a natural communicator and salesman, Keith has successfully started and operated Snap-On franchise businesses both in the UK and Florida. These skills, combined with his hands-on experience, position him well for success with LockFit.

Overcoming Challenges

Identifying mortice locks and gearboxes to ensure timely and accurate repairs has been an exciting learning experience. Keith is tackling this challenge head-on. “At your door in 30-60 minutes is key when handling emergency call-outs. I strive to provide a confident price estimate and an expected ETA to ensure customer satisfaction,” he explains.

Community Impact and Engagement

Keith is committed to offering fantastic service and fair prices to his local community. He plans to join a local business network group and actively participate in community events, further integrating his business within the area. He will be covering the areas of Epsom, Sutton, Leatherhead, Ashtead, Tadworth, Worcester Park, and Banstead.

Goals for the Future

In the short term, Keith aims to achieve profitability quickly. His long-term goals include maintaining a stellar local reputation as the go-to locksmith and continually growing his skill set and inventory.

A Personal Touch

When not working, Keith enjoys spending time with his three adult children and three grandchildren, riding his Harley, and carp fishing. He fondly recalls a memorable experience as a Snap-On franchisee in Florida, where he sold £165k worth of tools to a lottery winner.

Advice for Aspiring Franchisees

For those considering starting a LockFit franchise, Keith’s advice is clear: “Knock on as many doors as possible to promote yourself and your services. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone; personally, I learn by doing.”

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead, Keith sees the locksmith industry growing as public awareness of home security increases. “We need to be the first call people make when considering protecting their homes and businesses,” he says. Joining LockFit has allowed him to leave behind corporate pressures and embrace the stress and rewards of running his own business.

We are excited to see the positive impact Keith will have on his community and the LockFit family. Welcome aboard!
