A Fresh Start: From Construction to LockFit

After more than 15 years in the construction industry, Bogdan decided it was time for a change. With extensive experience in carpentry, glazing, and specialist interior systems, the high-pressure environment of construction had taken its toll. When a friend shared their positive experience with LockFit, Bogdan knew it was time to explore a new path.

“Brexit, COVID, and other factors brought more stress into construction. I saw LockFit as a chance to take control of my career and stay busy while keeping things interesting,” Bogdan shared.

Why LockFit?

What attracted Bogdan to LockFit was the transparency and support he witnessed through his friend’s experience who was already a Lockfit Franchisee. Although locksmithing was not initially on his radar, his background in fitting and installing locks gave him a head start. The challenge and variety of locksmithing also appealed to him.

“I’ve installed hundreds of locks over the years, but I never really considered the locksmith industry. Seeing how LockFit works and the community support made me want to join.”

Early Challenges and Preparation

As a new LockFit franchisee, Bogdan is still getting his bearings. He acknowledges that it’s early days, but he’s confident that his background in construction will set him up for success. He’s already taken steps to organise his van with the right tools, not only for locksmithing but for a variety of scenarios.

“I’m still getting set up, I’ve stocked my van with everything I need and more—it’s about being prepared.”

Professionalism and Community Impact

Bogdan knows that professionalism and customer satisfaction will be key to his success in the competitive areas of Kensington, Chiswick, Richmond, and Twickenham. He’s confident in his people skills and believes that being a reliable locksmith in his community will set him apart.

“My local community has gained a reliable locksmith. I plan to serve them with professionalism and do the job right.”

Goals for Growth

In the short term, Bogdan’s focus is on perfecting his setup. Long-term, he has ambitions to expand his territory and even hire additional staff as his business grows.

“My goal is to get more postcodes, hire someone, and repeat the process. I want the business to grow organically.”

Looking Ahead: The Future of Locksmithing

Bogdan is optimistic about his journey with LockFit. He’s keeping an eye on the future of the locksmith industry and knows that by maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach, his business will thrive.

“I’m hoping AI and robots won’t take over! My plan is to keep being friendly, professional, and never get greedy. That’s how I’ll stay ahead.”
