“Last winter I decided to replace my van with a 4×4 vehicle after been unable to attend several emergency call-outs due to snow, ice and flooding. Known to millions of tourists for its beautiful lakes, Lancaster and the Lake District, are prone to torrential rains that create these massive lakes which often result in flash floods and roads becoming completely unusable.

While we don’t get much snow in the area, we often experience frosty spells. These spells of frost don’t usually cause many issues in the larger towns and cities but, the lack of gritting in rural areas, make the roads dangerous and often unusable to regular cars and vans.

During the recent snowy weather I was able to get a family back into their home in Ambleside after they locked themselves out and also visited a remote farm near Keswick after an elderly owner had snapped her key in the lock and potentially unable to secure her door that night. I was only able to attend these emergency jobs thanks to the 4×4 ability of my new Toyota Hilux.”
